Lea Pekkala

Lea Pekkala is a versatile freelancer and ensemble cellist. A founding member of Avanti!, she has focused on contemporary music in particular in her appearances and recordings. The busy concert and recording schedule of the Rantatie String Quartet performing on period instruments in turn allows her to immerse herself in music of the early Classical era. In 2007 the Quartet was the winner of the Finnish Emma classical-music award for its recording of the complete string quartets by Erik Tulindberg.
