Anneli Arho (1951) Anneli Arho studied composition at the Sibelius Academy, Helsinki, and in Freiburg, Germany, with Klaus Huber and Brian Ferneyhough. She holds a doctor of music degree from the Sibelius Academy (dissertation: On the way to a musical work. A phenomenological study of the relationship between music and a musician, 2004). In Sordina is an outcome of years of co-operation with a local music school. In sordina - five short pieces for string quartet - was written in collaboration with a quartet of young musicians, Eeva Voipio, Maaria Kiilavuori, Martta Tolonen, and Saara Tuomela, and is dedicated to them and their teacher, Terhi Mali. |
