Hildur Ingveldardóttir Guðnadóttir

Hildur Ingveldardóttir Gudnadóttir (born in Iceland 1982) is a cellist and a composer.

She began her cello studies at the age of 6, studying with Sigurdur Halldórsson, Gunnar Kvaran and Bryndís Halla Gylfadóttir. As a cellist she has played with a number of muscians. Amongst them are múm, Skúli Sverrisson, Hilmar Jensson, Hafler trio, Jóhann Jóhannsson, Nico Muhly, Valgeir Sigurdsson, Angel, Pan Sonic, SchneiderTM, BJ Nilsen and Stilluppsteypa. She has performed as a cellist all over Europe and the United States.

Hildur studied electro acoustic composition at The Icelandic Academy of the Arts and Universitat der Kunste in Berlin. She graduated the spring 2005 from the Composition/New Media department of The Icelandic Academy of the Arts and was the first person to do so.

As a composer she has written music for plays, dance performances and films, pieces for chamber orchestras, various instruments, voices and electronics. Hildur has made sound and visual installations aswell as composing and conducting musical performances. She has also assisted other artists such as Christina Kubisch with realizing and setting up sound installations.

Hildur has from a young age taken part of several record releases. The most recent projects released in 2005 with the bands Stórsveit Nix Noltes and Mr. Schmucks farm. Her first solo album under the name lost in hildurness is coming out 2006.
