Simon Steen-Andersen

Studies in composition with Karl Aage Rasmussen, Mathias Spahlinger, Gabriel Valverde and Bent Sorensen in Arhus, Freiburg, Buenos Aires and Copenhagen, 1998-2006. 1st prize winner in the Holmboe Competition 2000. Awarded a prize by the Danish Arts Foundation 2002. Receiver of the Bisballe Foundation’s Artist Prize and the Léonie Sonning Foundation Scholarship 2005. Granted a “Three Year Scholarship” by the Danish Arts Foundation 2006. Received commissions from among others ensemble recherché/Donaueschinger Musiktage, Athelas Sinfonietta Copenhagen, Arhus Sinfonietta, Pearls Before Swines and Asamisimasa. Works performed and broadcasted in 19 countries. Writer and co-editor of the danish magazine for new art music AUTOGRAF. Composer In Residence with Aalborg Symphony Orchestra 2004-2005.
