txture, opus1 (18')

Premiered 10. september 2005.
Though the opus1 material is noisy and fragmented, it’s still tonal and thoroughly composed. Jakob seeks a homogenous expression, rich on texture, timbre and energy. This is achieved by working with many layers of processed textural sounds and glitches that are tightly interwoven. The music is often symphonic or oceanic like a warm, stormy sea. Many of the compositions are energetic like noise rock, however without beats, held together instead by loops of 10-15 seconds duration. The experience of these loops keeps changing as non-repetitive tightly woven material is composed on top of them.
