ELM

...leftfield electronica, glitch electronica, illbient, microscopic music, digital processing, clicks_+_cuts and cutting edge...or Electronic Listening Music - ELM - is electronic music, typically composed by artists within the so-called laptop environment.
Within the laptop culture we deal with a different sort of composers and performers than the ones that usually characterize Nordic Music Days - and Nordic Music Days finds it worth taking a look at what is going on within this environment.
In fact, Nordic Music Days 2004 did call for everybody within the ELM genre to submit music for the festival - and three artists (out of 24 candidates) were chosen to perform at the Nordic Music Days ELM-evening on November 20th:
Jakob Riis (DK), Rune Søchting (DK) and Erik Levander (S). Special guest stars at the ELM event will be Opiate (aka Thomas Knak, DK) and Oval (aka Markus Popp, D).
